Our company occupies a niche necessary for women who wear sizes 16W to 34W, a range not readily offered elsewhere. Sizes 16WP to 26WP 16WT and 34WT are also available, to the delight of our customers small and large. Our thriving chain originated in Memphis with a single store called Catherines Stout Shoppe. Owned by Catherine Weaver, the company aims to give a style to the market for larger sizes. A group of investors bought the store in 1960 and formed Catherines, Inc. In 1980, the company number of 100 stores. Catherines, Inc. went public in 1991, becoming Catherine Stores Corporation. In January 2000, Charming Shoppes, Inc. acquired Catherines Stores Corporation. Catherine continues to lead the industry in service and satisfaction. Much of this success is due to our real-Fit program, which we took very detailed measurements of nearly 3,000 women and used them to design a totally new form. Then we started to offer clothes that are closer to the figure of plus-size.
